Crayon Dreams at White Cross

A friend of mine thought of celebrating his day by making others happy. Doing something like this is not new to us. Together with other friends of ours we planned on where and what are the things to be done.

We have decided to visit White Cross. You might think that it's something similar to Red Cross but it isn't, this institution is a home for children who no longer has parents or was mistreated by their parents. White Cross was founded on September 10, 1938 by Ms. Victoria Lopez de Araneta, located in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Chicken All You Can at Max's

How many chicken's can you eat in one sitting?

Chicken is the most famous dish for Filipino's, wouldn't it be great if you could eat as much chicken as you can? Now you can.

Since the great success of Max's Chicken All You Can last 2010, they ones again offered this deal last June 10 - July 10, 2011. For only PHP 199, you can eat all the chicken as want. The chicken served is 1/4 of the whole chicken.

Now, before the promo ends Mia and I should at least experience eating the most chicken we can.

Big Meals for a Big Appetite

Sumo Sam restaurant, the name itself sounded big. I kept on passing by this restaurant and wondering if the food are good or if they really have big servings. Since I love Japanese food, then I really have to try it out.

They several branches in Metro Manila, but Mia and I got the chance to try out their branch at Shangri-La Plaza.

Freedom Climb 2011

How did you guys celebrated your Independence Day? Me, I was lucky enough to be invited by my college friend Rose to join the annual Freedom Climb. This event started last 2009 by mountaineers and outdoor enthusiasts as their way of celebrating Independence Day, and was then turned into an annual event, but this year - 2011, it is more special. This June 12, 2011 - Freedom Climb will attempt to summit different mountains simultaneously in a attempt to set a New Guiness World Record.

The Category is: Largest Ascent on a Mountain (Multiple Locations).

The record was set in United Kingdom and Ireland last September 10, 2000 having 600 people simultaneously scaled 112 mountains.

Italian Fast Food

Fast food restaurants is a big thing here in the Philippines. Everyone wants to get there food and eat it right away. I don't know if it's because we have a fast phased life or are we just always in a hurry or maybe we really like to eat.

I have tried a lot of fast food restaurants but when I came across Ristorante Bigoli, I was surprised that it was a fast food restaurant style and not a fine dinning restaurant.

Ristorante Bigoli is an Italian fast food restaurant (Italian fast food?? that is really something new). You'll wonder how do they do it, because if eat at a fine dinning Italian restaurant you know that you will wait for 30 to 45 minutes before being served, that depends on the food that you order.

The Cheesecake Factory

Here's another post on my travel in L.A. or should I say food trip. hehe.

Actually I was lucky enough that Gizelle my older brother's friend invited us to have dinner outside since they haven't seen each other for a long time. We really don't know any good place that we want to eat at, so Gizelle and her boyfriend Ryan took us to The Cheesecake Factory, I can't remember the exact place though.

When we reach the place, I was at awe when I saw the place. The outside of the restaurant itself was amazing and looks quite expensive. Arriving we didn't expect to be waiting in line for a long time but there a lot of people who are in queue waiting to be called. The way they call their customers who are waiting in line is new to me, they provide a device to the customers something like a size of a mobile phone and when it's your turn to be called that device (sorry I don't have any picture of the device to better explain it) will light up, meaning that there is an available table already.

Here some pictures of the place outside. Sorry for the quality of the pictures.

Chowking in L.A.

Filipino food and restaurants are really making their way into the international market, just like one of the most famous food chains in the Philippines - Chowking. I was a bit happy seeing Chowking in L.A because it kinda make me feel proud of how Filipino's are succeeding abroad.

One thing that I noticed when visiting fast food chains they have different menu's per country.

Eating at Chowking somewhere in West Covina, I noticed that their menu is not like what they offer in the Philippines. There were no Lauriat meals, the noodles and other food choices.

To Hollywood and Universal Studios

For a change, I'll be posting an English version for my blog..

They say that when you visit L.A. (Los Angeles) California, there are 3 places that you must go to - that is Hollywood, Universal Studios and Disneyland. Too bad for me I wasn't able to visit Disneyland, but that's fine.

On my first few days in L.A. one thing that I noticed is that commuting is not the best option to travel in this city because bus stops are far apart and it takes time to wait for buses to come, not unless you live in downtown were most transportation is accessible like train stations. Still the best way to get around is to have your own car or rent a car to maximize your traveling time.

To get to downtown L.A Tita Nanette decided we park our car at Union Station and take a train going downtown to save time for looking parking spaces and save on parking fees which is much more expensive in that area.

Some facts: This station has been used several times for Hollywood movies like Pearl Harbor, The Way We Were, Blade Runner, Speed, Star Trek; First Contact, Silver Streak and The Italian Job. The old ticket windows stood in for Miami National Bank in the Leonardo DiCaprio - Tom Hanks caper Catch Me if You Can.

Bagong Salta: Los Angeles, California - Taipei, Taiwan stop-over

Manila Beer Rock On Manila Salu-Salong Pamilya
