Marlboro Red Rush 2010

It all started with signing up online at http://malboro.ph and with that I have experienced one of the best things in life, driving a real race car.

I was surprised that someone called me on my mobile phone using a land line telling me that I was picked to be one of the finalists for the Marlboro Red Rush. They asked me to present documents that made me a little suspicious, but hey! I tried and lucky for me. We're scheduled for an exam, "Psych Exam" (damn do I look crazy?!?!). Oh well, the test was too damn long like being back to school; but the best part is the driving test. I never knew I could get so nervous driving a car, because someone was inside the car with me and checking how I drive. It was not a test of speed but more of safe and steady driving.


I was also able to meet some friends during the exams; Jozen, Nikkon and Alma. Exchanged numbers so that if we ever get called in for the Final 60 we can meet-up again. Luckily Jozen got a call, and then Alma, I was the last one to get called in. Yes!!!
 

Our meeting place was at Toyz Bar in Fort Strip at Bonifacio Global City. Had some breakfast (FREE). Able to meet all the participants and everyone is so excited, you can really feel it in the air. They briefed us on what will happen for the day and that we have surprises waiting for us at the hotel. We then, left for Clark Pampanga to stay at Hotel Vida.

When we went inside a big tent for our registration, and there right in front us are the surprises.A very nice, red Ferrari Sports Bag. Inside were a racing suit, biker gloves, balaklava and our dry-fit shirts. COOL!!

We were are so excited to try out all the racing gears.

 

 

The briefing started on what will be challenges in-store for us. It was explained to us by JP Tuazon of "Tuazon Racing School", a very famous racing school in the Philippines.

 This is what the race courses will look like during the challenges.

 

We already checked-in our rooms. We were all treated like VIP's, everything was provided especially the food. hehehe.

The following day July 16, Friday, we already wore all our racing gears for the activities for the whole day and mind you its a 12hours activity. Damn!!

 The activity was held at Clark International Speedway.

When we went inside, everything was so amazing. Seeing all the race tracks and race cars to be used. We can't be any more exciting than this.

Before we started everything, we were group into teams. Each team is based on colors, ours was "Gray Team", woohoo!! Go GRAY!!

From all the 60 participants Marlboro will pick the FINAL 6 that will go to ITALY and participate in another challenge against other countries. The criteria for winning is having the best time in all challenges and especially the participant should have good ATTITUDE!!

After all the challenges we were treated to a party, eat all you can and drink all you can!! wohooo!!

Then they announced the FINAL 6 at "The Mansion" a club in Clark.

 

 

The best part of this event is that we all became good friends..
