Faith and Respect

Last March we had a Photo Contest about the Core Values of our Company "Brother International Philippines Corporation". There are 8 Groups in all which was given a Core Value that they will portray. The Core Values are:
  • Customer First
  • Faith and Respect to Others
  • Concern for Environment & Society
  • Quality Oriented/Results Driven
  • Innovativeness
  • Openness
  • Flexibility
  • Integrity
The Core Value that was given to us was "Faith and Respect"

In our group which was composed of 5 members including our General Manager, I volunteered to be the photographer since we weren't able to get any one to do it for us. I also picked on how we will do the photoshoot and this is our entry for the photo contest.

On the day that the winner will be picked, to our surprise our group is the First 1st Placer for the contest. To me as the one who conceptualized and took the picture for our group, I was so happy due to this achievement. I know some of you might not agree that my photo is not that great to have won, but for me winning this contest is my own achievement.

Special thanks to my groupmates, Isayama-san (General Manager), Glenn, Elen, Lheng and Carlo.

By the way this contest was judged by a third party, forgot his name but he is a graduate of UP Diliman, Cum Laude (BA Broadcasting Communication). He is a segment host/writer (Slipstream), Contirnuting Writer/Photographer (Manual Magazine), Talent & Business Manager (Gaby dela Merced), Special Events Coordinator (Honda Club of the Philippines) and Makerting Manager (Nissan Motors Phils. Inc.), now runs his own photography and events management business.

Just to share his comments about our shoot:

"This photo garnered and almost perfect score in all categories except for clarity of message and general aesthetic quality. It is apparent though that the subjects in the photo demonstrate "trust" and "respect" with each other. It is the most creative among the photos and it strikes the viewer as an impactful composition which even when blown up to poster size and imputted with words would still best represent your company's core values."

And we scored 95pts. for winning in this photo contest.

It's such a great feeling winning contests like this, I don't know if I would do photography more as a hobby or not.
